What is the Razor E100 Glow Electric Scooter?
This electric scooter is the smaller model in the E family of scooters from Razor, and as its name implies… it glows! Having some blue LED lights along side it’s frame and deck, your kid won’t pass by without notice.
It’s a battery powered scooter, and the only model of the E family that will need a slight impulse to kick start the motor. It’s only a very light kick that even small kids won’t notice at all.
It has a very cool and smooth ride, with a quiet motor, that your neighbors and you will love.
What are the differences between the standard Razor E100 and the Razor E100 Glow?
If you have already made some research about Razor scooters, you may already know that there is a standard E100 model. If you are asking yourself what are the differences between them, let me tell you that there aren’t much.
The obvious one, and that you already know of, is that the E100 Glow… well, it glows. It has several LED lights placed in it’s frame and deck that will spark and light on each time the throttle is twisted.
Other than that, there’s really no big difference. The dimensions vary very slightly, less than an inch, and the E100 Glow weights just a few pounds more. These are really very minor differences. It’s structure is basically the same:
E100 | E100 Glow | |
---|---|---|
Assembled Dimensions | 34.25″ x 8″ x 16.75″ (87 x 20.32 x 42.55 cm.) | 35″ x 8.5″ x 17″ (89 x 21.6 x 43.2 cm.) |
Weight | 29 lbs. (13.15 Kg) | 32 lbs (14.5 Kg) |

Who can ride the Razor E100 Glow?
Similar to it’s twin brother, this scooter is for young kids of 8 years old and up. But we always explain that this is not a strict limit, but just a soft guideline made by the manufacturer.
When deciding who will be able to ride the E100, you need to take into consideration the weight of the rider and how easily her or his ability to maneuver the scooter is.
Razor states that 8 year old kids and up are the ones who should ride it. This means that your kid must have a minimum height and strength to be able to stand comfortably in the scooter’s deck, and have a good grasp at the grip and throttle. Also the kid should have the minimum strength to maneuver the scooter to turn, twist the throttle and press the break.
All these abilities are commonly present in 8 years old and up. But this doesn’t mean you can’t try it with younger kids. Please exercise some common sense if you do this, and pay close attention to these guidelines to be sure your kid can handle it properly.
On the higher end, even adults can ride it if they meet the maximum rider weight limit of 120 lbs (54.5 Kg). Some thin moms would be thrilled to use it to catch their kids running through the house, although it might not be as comfortable as the bigger E scooters like the Razor E200 or Razor E300. Assembly
The Razor E100 Glow requires some simple assembly steps. These can be easily performed by an adult in about 10 minutes, with the appropriate tools.
According to the official Razor E100 Glow manual, linked in the product page of the Razor website, you will only need a 5mm Allen wrench, and it’s included in the product package.
Keep in mind that you will need to inflate the front tire of your scooter, so you will need to have a bicycle style tire pump, one that can inflate Schrader type valve tires, as the E100 has. This is NOT included in the package.
What are the Razor E100 Glow features and detailed specs
As we already mentioned, this is the smallest of the E scooters from Razor. Is targeted for kids over 8 years old and young teens, up to a maximum weight of 120 lbs (54.5 Kg).
The scooter, once fully assembled weights around 32 lbs (14.5 Kg). This weight, in conjunction with it’s relatively small size (35″ x 8.5″ x 17″ or 89 x 21.6 x 43.2 cm.) makes it a good and easy to carry scooter for those sunday trips to the park. And adult can easily carry it, and transport it in the back seat or trunk of most cars or trucks.
It’s a battery powered scooter, as we already mention. It features two 12V batteries, forming a 24V system that powers a high torque and chain driven electric motor. It’s quiet enough compared to other scooters, a feature that would be loved by parents and neighbors alike.
It has a durable steel frame and deck, that can sustain a lot of heavy use. It’s front tire is an 8” inch pneumatic wheel, while in the back it features an urethane wheel. When the rider needs to ride off, it can use it’s retractable kick stand to leave the scooter standing in place, without the need to lean it on a wall or other surface.
It can speed up to 10 Mph (16 Km/h) and it can be used for about 40 minutes on a single charge under normal conditions. What are normal conditions? Well, let’s just use some common sense. Heavier riders will put a higher toll on the motor, thus spending the charge quicker. Also if you are not riding on a flat surface, and go over grass or hills most of the time, this will certainly drain the batteries faster.

What are Razor E100 Glow owners saying about it?
As we usually do, we performed some research among the current owners of the scooter, and checked what their experiences and ratings were. This way, you can save some time of doing this research yourself, and base your decision in this summary.
But if you want to check this on your own, you can go to the Customer Reviews section on Amazon, and you can evaluate yourself.
At the moment of this writing, the Razor E100 glow had 203 reviews and ratings, with an average of 4.2 stars out of 5. Pretty good!
83% of the ratings were in the 4-5 star range, coming from really happy and delighted customers, that are really loving this product and express it so in their reviews.
5% of the ratings are 3 starts, usually coming from satisfied customers that expected some more, or that had a problem that was not a big issue for them.
12% of the ratings are in the 1-2 star range, and some of them are from really pissed off clients, that had problems with the scooters from the start.
From our point of view, the ratings and reviews are really good. The E family of scooters have a steady and similar percentages of ratings, no matter how many reviews they get.
At this point is very important to say that the cutomer support of Razor is extremely professional. We contacted them ourselves and they are quick and to the point.
Keep in mind that all of their products have Warranty, and the E100 Glow is NOT an exception. Razor will warranty that this product IS free of defects for 90 days since the day of purchase. So please, if you are purchasing this product in advance for a birthday or Christmass, it would be wise to assemble it and use it at least for testing as soon as you get it. Some of the unhappy 10% realized a failure out of the box long after purchasing, losing valuable time on the warranty.
Keep a responsible awareness on the scooter maintenance and warranty details as specified in the owner’s manual. Razor will respond if you have a problem covered by their policies, so it’s better to be aware of them.
Final words about it
We think that there’s a lot of happy customers that give a thumbs up to this amazing Razor scooter. For us is a definitely a buy!
We usually do an in-depth research of each of the products, for obvious reasons concerning the review. But what we can say is that most of the problems that customers would complain about, can be avoided or solved with proper care, maintenance or knowing the limitations of the product from the start.
If you can put a little of attention to the owner’s manual at the beginning and familiarize yourself with the scooter at the start, we think you won’t regret it, the same way as the huge majority of it’s current owners.
If you are an owner, and what to share with us your experience, please write to us, we would love to hear your story.
